EY Canada works with Carleton’s Sprott School of Business to reimagine the future of business education
Today, EY Canada and Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business announce their collaboration to foster talent and leadership development for students in the Sprott Student Consulting Group. The relationship will provide mutual learning opportunities and enhance the student experience at Sprott.
“Supporting the next generation of business leaders is central to our purpose of building a better working world. That’s why we’re excited to collaborate with Sprott School of Business,” said Annie Murphy, EY Canada Partner, Consulting. “Students will gain experience navigating realistic business issues and develop unique solutions to everyday problems.”
Professionals from EY Canada will provide mentorship and coaching to Sprott student consultants, who will benefit from EY’s real-world insights to their client projects, as well as the opportunity to test thinking and solutions. EY Canada will host regular events where students and professionals can engage with each other to share, explore and discover better ways of working.
In addition, the relationship will establish the EY Leadership Award, which will recognize outstanding leadership and contributions by a student member of the Sprott Student Consulting Group. It will be awarded three times a year at the end of Carleton’s academic term.
“We are delighted for EY’s support of the Sprott Student Consulting Group,” said Dana Brown, dean of the Sprott School of Business. “Together, we will develop and empower future leaders and changemakers who will be able to break through conventional thinking and find innovative solutions to complex challenges in business and our communities.”
Through the Sprott Student Consulting Group, undergraduate business and MBA students work in interdisciplinary teams to address a current business challenge for local and international businesses and organizations. Sprott student consultants have worked a variety of projects – including market expansion research, fund development, event management, business continuity and recovery planning, and more – for diverse businesses and organizations. Students have the opportunity to gain course credit for their service, or participate as volunteers.
