Dana brings her more than 20 years of experience fostering business innovation, working with complex organizations, and advancing corporate responsibility to Lucky Iron Fish.
The dean of Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business, she took an unusual path to the business world, starting as a Rhode’s Scholar and earning her master’s degree in Russian and Eastern European studies at Oxford University, followed by a PhD in political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has held many roles in academia, including dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and pro vice chancellor for enterprise at De Montfort University, as well as director of the MBA program at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
Early in her career, Dana worked with several startups, including as an early employee at Amazon where she helped to create a new ordering and inventory system. She serves as president of Warm Heart Worldwide, a community-based organization in Northern Thailand, and as a governor of the Vedica Scholars Program in New Delhi India and the Oxford Business College in the UK. Dana is also a board member of the Kanata North Business Association in Ottawa. Throughout her career, Dana has championed social enterprise and the opportunities for business to make a positive impact in the world. Her experience will bring valuable insight to Lucky Iron Fish as we continue to grow.
