Sprott MBA students prepare to lead with purpose in an exciting new era

This fall, close to 90 new MBA students at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business have taken up the challenge to lead with purpose. They join fellow students in Sprott’s weekday and professional MBA programs in the school’s new home in the Nicol Building.

New Sprott MBA students were welcomed to Sprott through an orientation on Sept. 2-3.

“The past 18 months have shown that online learning can be effective, but there’s something special that happens when talented people assemble in the same room,” said Robin Ritchie, associate dean of professional graduate programs at Sprott.

“That’s particularly true now that we’re in the Nicol Building. Our learning spaces and technology are on par with the best in the world, and that’s going to give Sprott MBA students the opportunity to shine.”

In addition to the weekday MBA and Professional MBA programs that are delivered in Ottawa, Sprott also offers its MBA program in Shanghai, China. Delivered in partnership with the Glorious Sun School of Business and Management at Donghua University, Sprott’s MBA Shanghai program welcomed 39 new students in May.

“One of the most exciting things about Sprott is that the excitement doesn’t just come from our new building,” Robin said. “We have a strategic vision that is forward-looking and bold.”

Sprott MBA students will benefit from new experiential and work-integrated learning opportunities, which include the Sprott Student Consulting Group, Carleton’s Innovation Hub, and the university’s new space in Kanata North that provides connections to the 540+ firms in Canada’s largest technology park.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that these are game-changers for the MBA programs, and the School as a whole.”

The fall 2021 course schedule includes a combination of in-person, hybrid and online course delivery types to provide flexibility for students, while accounting for public health guidelines and the safety of the Carleton community.
