Businesses know that their data is an asset. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Twitter have led the way in using organizational data to drive innovation and business results.  New tools have been developed to help organizations discover value in their data.  A new discipline – which goes by several names including Business Analytics, Data Science, Big Data or Data Analytics – has emerged as one of the fastest growing fields.

The Sprott MBA concentration in Business Analytics empowers students to use data to enhance decision making.  At Sprott, we have the knowledge, skills and tools to help discover the potential in organizational data. Researchers at Sprott work on business analytics applications in finance, marketing, human resources, production and operations management.

The MBA concentration in Business Analytics is part of Carleton University’s Collaborative Master’s in Data Science. Students following this concentration will take specialized courses on data analysis using statistical methods, have access to new tools, and will have the opportunity to engage with students in other disciplines to enhance their understanding of analytics.

Business analytics has become one of the most sought after skills in the technology field. The number of opportunities has grown exponentially in recent years.

Admission Notes

In addition to the regular admission requirements for the MBA program, general quantitative ability, as demonstrated by grades in related courses, based on university transcripts, will be considered.

Space in this concentration is limited and the admission process is competitive.
