Dr. Shaobo Ji is a professor of Information Systems & an Associate Dean, Research and International, Sprott School of Business at Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His research focuses on both technical and managerial issues of information systems (IS) in organizational context. He has published more than 100 research papers, technical reports, book chapters, and business cases, covering a number of research topics, including the design and implementation of IS in organizations, the design, use, impact and management issues of enterprise systems (e.g., ERP and SCM) and emerging ICT (e.g., social media and AIoT), at individual, group, and organizational levels.
His most recent research activities have expanded beyond organizational boundary. He has conducted research projects to examine the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability reports in case of ICT industry, the use of ICT for green growth, the economic, environmental and social impact of emerging network technology such as 5G.Prior to his academic career at Carleton University, he worked as business analyst and system engineer in a number of leading global IT consulting firms. He remains active in providing consulting services to a number of organizations.
He holds a PhD in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo in Canada, an MBA from Babson College in the USA, and a B. Eng. from Dalian University of Technology in China. He is also currently serving as an Associate Editor, Journal of Global Information Management.
