Amanda Dobbie is a Strategist, Operational Excellence with the Public Works department at the City of Ottawa. She is currently responsible for leading the design and implementation of leadership and employee development programs which support the department in fostering safe, healthy and inclusive work environments that sustain the execution of key city services. Amanda previously managed the leadership development program for faculty and staff here at Carleton University for almost 10 years and has led a team of L&D professionals as the Manager of Employee and Leadership development at Canadian Blood Services.
Amanda believes that we all have the agency to create the best version of ourselves, our teams and our organizations. Through intentional dialogue, action planning, execution, reflection and continuous learning we all have the power to achieve more than we often believe. Amanda has spent her career dedicated to the service of supporting others through formal, social and experiential development opportunities which seeks to inspire while creating space for meaningful conversations and tangible actions to achieve their fullest potential. She has collaborated with many stakeholders nationally and internationally to bring leadership development and coaching to the core of our organization’s performance and accomplishment.
As a continuous learner herself, Amanda is a Professional Goal-Centric Certified Coach from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business Executive Centre, a Certified Excellence Professional through Excellence Canada and holds the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation with The International Coaching Federation (ICF). She has a Management Development certificate from Carleton University and Adult Learning Certification from Algonquin College.
Amanda also holds an Honours degree with First-Class standing in Sport Management, from Brock University.
