ABSTRACTIn the context of Hockey Canada’s recent sexual assault and transparency scandal, morescrutiny is placed on the National governing body, and its 13 members. Hockey Canada’sleadership team is facing a serious crisis, because they have lost the support and trust of many funders. Three organizations, namely Hockey Canada, Hockey Canada Foundation, and Hockey Canada Foundation US, are examined. The objective is to examine Hockey Canada’s crisis from two perspectives. From the financial information perspective, assets, liabilities, fund balances will be examined. Various funds, such as the National Equity Fund, were used. The loss of support and trust had important financial impact. From the governance perspective, following the crisis two reports prepared by Judge Thomas Cromwell (2022a; 2022b) looks at the Hockey Canada governance.
