BUSI 4904 – Future Builders Campaign [1.0 credit]
This directed studies course offers students the opportunity to apply their business knowledge in one of four experiential settings: The Store, The Bookstore, Athletics, and Recruitment.
Open to students with 3rd or 4th year standing in BCom, BIB, or BAcc, this full-credit course blends hands-on experience with academic reflection, allowing students to develop practical skills while contributing meaningfully to campus partners.

The Store
Work on the operational side of Abstentions, a convenience store serving the residence community and operated by the Rideau River Residence Association. Students will support day-to-day business functions and contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency, customer experience, and overall store operations.
The Bookstore
Collaborate with the Campus Store, applying business skills to support marketing efforts. Students will contribute to initiatives that strengthen brand visibility, enhance customer engagement, and drive sales performance, while supporting day-to-day promotional and merchandising efforts aligned with current business priorities.
Athletics
Collaborate with Carleton Athletics, applying business skills to support a range of departmental needs. Projects may involve sports management initiatives, ticket sales strategies, or marketing campaigns, with the specific focus depending on current priorities.
Recruitment
Serve as a digital ambassador for Sprott, using creativity and social media expertise to showcase the student experience. Students in this stream will contribute to content creation, digital storytelling, and engagement strategies that strengthen recruitment.
