I am an international student who completed my degree in the UK/USA, do I still need to provide English proficiency scores?: If your first language is not English, you must prove your language proficiency by:

presenting one of the official Language Proficiency (ESL) test scores;
showing that you have completed ESLA 1900 or ESLA 1905 at Carleton University with a final grade of B- or higher; or
presenting official certification (transcripts) that you have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree within the past three years in a university in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom or any country in which the primary language is English, where the language of instruction in the relevant educational institution was English, and the language of instruction in your most recently completed undergraduate or graduate degree was English.
My English test scores do not meet the minimum criteria, am I eligible for a conditional offer?: We are very strict in ensuring the English proficiency requirement is met and therefore, we do not offer conditional admission for those who do not meet the English proficiency requirement.
What are the institution and department codes for sending the TOEFL scores to the university?: The Institution Code is 0854.
The Department Code is 02.
As an international student, am I eligible for admission in the Winter (January) term?: We do not offer Winter admission. There is one entry point for the program – September of each year.
I am an International candidate can I be considered for the Sprott MBA as a part-time student?: Unfortunately, no. International candidates are only considered for full-time studies and we no longer offer part-time studies.
What are the World Education Services (WES) Requirements for International Applicants and Applicants whose degree is from outside of Canada?: Please see the WES requirements on our MBA Admissions page.
What are the minimum requirements needed for admission?: A minimum GMAT score of 550 overall or equivalent GRE score, a 4-year undergraduate degree in any discipline with a cumulative average over all four years of a “B”. Two recommendations are also required. If you have been out of academia for at least four years or more, professional recommendations may be used, otherwise academic recommendations are required. You may also be required to meet the minimum Language Proficiency criteria. Please review the comprehensive list of admission criteria.
When calculating the grade point average, are only the last two years of coursework taken into consideration or are all courses over the four years used in the calculation?: To determine if a candidate meets the CGPA requirement, all four years of study and all courses are taken into account when calculating the cumulative grade point average.
If I send my documents by email, can you assess if I am eligible to apply for the program?: Unfortunately, due to the volume of applicants, we do not provide a pre-assessment of documents until we receive a formal application. Please refer to the website for information on admission criteria.
Do I require work experience for this program?: No, while we welcome students with a range of work experience, the Sprott MBA includes an integrative experiential internship to ensure that all MBA graduates complete the program ready to succeed in the job market. Students with two or more years of professional work experience may apply to be exempted from the internship once in-program.
Is a thesis or a supervisor required for the Sprott MBA?: No, the Sprott MBA does not include a thesis. As the program is strictly course based, a supervisor is not required.
I do not have an undergraduate degree in the area of Business, can I still be considered for the Sprott MBA?: A degree in almost any discipline can be considered provided all other admission requirements are met.
