Sprott Student Tutor Match
If you feel you need additional assistance with course materials, one-on-one tutors can provide help with course materials for a fee. Although the Sprott School of Business does review all tutors’ academic course background, we are not responsible for students’ satisfaction or outcomes. The agreements are strictly between the tutor and the student.
To safeguard your tutoring experience, consider the following tips:
- Choose a Public Location: Opt for meeting in a public space such as a library, campus study area, or café. Avoid secluded or unfamiliar locations.
- Arrive Early: Arrive a few minutes before the scheduled meeting time to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and ensure a smooth start to the session.
- Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off or makes you uncomfortable during the session, trust your instincts and consider ending the meeting or seeking assistance.
- Set Expectations: Communicate your expectations with the tutor regarding the session’s objectives, duration, and any specific areas of focus beforehand.
- Establish Boundaries: Maintain professional boundaries during the session. Focus on academic matters and avoid sharing personal information unless necessary.
Please note that, due to the conflict of interest, tutors are not permitted to assist students in courses for which they are currently a Teaching Assistant or Contract Instructor. The School of Business is not responsible for students’ satisfaction or outcomes. The agreements are strictly between the tutor and the student.
If you are looking for a tutor for a course that is not listed please contact Sarah Koch for assistance, SarahKoch@cunet.carleton.ca.
