Online MBA Registration
Before registration can occur, please ensure you have met all conditions on your offer of admission by providing original and official documents identified on your Statement of Standing on Admission.
Registration
Registration is completed through Carleton Central.
Registration steps: https://carleton.ca/registrar/registration/registration-steps/
Refer to the course map based on your term of admission, student status (part-time or full-time), and concentration. The course map will help you determine which courses to register in to graduate on time.
- Electives may be chosen from any MBA concentration course as long as: you meet any prerequisites; and it is not a core or concentration course which already appears on your course map. The Course Offerings page will list available courses and any pre-requisites.
- All students must register in BUSI 5998: MBA Skills Workshop before the end of their program. BUSI 5998 is a mandatory, non-credit course which includes professional development content and deliverables. It is available to take in every part of term and can be taken at any point in the program.
- Online MBA courses will always be sections V or T.
- Students should register for both parts of term at the same time i.e. when registering for Fall, include all courses for Fall 1 and Fall 2.
- Full-time students have a 2.5 credit registration limit per FULL term* . Part-time students have a 1.25 credit registration limit per FULL term. You may register in less than these limits in any given term, acknowledging that it will extend your total time to complete the program.
*A full term is each 4-month term: Fall (Sept-Dec), Winter (Jan-Apr), and Summer (May-Aug). Each full term consists of two parts of term (ie Fall term consists of Fall 1 and Fall 2)
Due to the short 7-week timeline of the Online MBA courses, registration into courses must take place before the first day of each part of term. Term dates can be found on the main page.
Students can drop courses in Carleton Central until the drop deadlines (check dates and deadlines). Registration deadlines are firm. A financial drop will result in a fee reimbursement and no registration record on your transcript. Courses dropped after the financial drop deadline, until the academic drop deadline, will result in a WDN notation appearing on your student record, and will not be reimbursed. Once the academic drop deadline has passed a course cannot be dropped.
Once you are registered, you will have access to the Sprott Online MBA Orientation modules in Brightspace. You are encouraged to review this material in advance of your first courses. Your registered course modules will appear in Brightspace at the beginning of each part of term.
Fee Payment
- Pay your tuition by the payment deadline each term to avoid penalties or late fees.
- Tuition is charged per credit; miscellaneous fees are charged based on student status (full or part-time)
- Tuition is charged per FULL term (Fall, Winter Summer). Make sure you are registered in both parts of term to avoid financial penalties for late registration/payment.
- Please visit the Student Accounts website for more details: https://carleton.ca/studentaccounts/tuition-fees/online-gr-fees/
Students who begin the program in the second part of a term may see a late fee automatically applied. This will be waived once fees are paid.
