If you would like to add, remove, or change your concentration at any point in the program, please email the request to mbaadvising@sprott.carleton.ca. If you are choosing to add or change a concentration, we recommend deciding on a concentration early in the program, as this will make planning out your courses much easier.
-
Absolutely! All graduates will be invited to a ceremony. There is one ceremony per year in June. Any students that graduate in the Fall (November) and Winter (February) will be invited to the June ceremony.
-
Students are admitted into either the full-time or part-time program, and we recommend to maintain that status throughout the program, as this allows students to follow pre-designed course maps.
Student status is not automatically updated based on registration. If you would like to change your student status for a full term or for the remainder of your program, please contact us at mbaadvising@sprott.carleton.ca.
If you are in your first term of the program, and recognize that you are in the wrong status, please reach out to us at mbaadvising@sprott.carleton.ca.
-
Yes. If you are planning to take a part-term off (7 weeks), you can simply not register for that part of term, and then resume registration the following part of term. You will need to adjust your course mapping accordingly.
If you will be taking a full-term (4-month) off or more, you can request a formal Leave of Absence by completing and submitting a Registration Change Form to mbaadvising@sprott.carleton.ca for processing. If approved by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, your program time limit is extended by the length of the approved leave. This leave is only approved on a full-term basis (Fall, Winter, Summer).
-
Yes, you can. You will have an elective requirement to meet for your program (either 1.0 credit or 3.25 credits). This value can be achieved through any combination of 0.25 or 0.5 credit elective options. Please keep in mind your term registration limits if you are replacing a 0.25 credit elective with a 0.5 credit elective. You may need to adjust other courses on your map accordingly to stay within your registration credit limit.
-
Course maps are provided as registration guides, but students are not required to follow a pre-designed course map.
If you are planning out your own program, or deviating from a course map, you can use this guide to help you plan out your courses.
-
If you believe there has been an error in the grading of a course, please contact the course instructor to request a grade review.
-
At any point in your program, you can run your academic audit. Your audit will list your program requirements, and list all courses you have taken within those requirements. You can run your audit in Carleton Central> Academic Progress> myAudit
If you have any questions about your audit, please email mbaadvising@sprott.carleton.ca.
-
Students within a concentration program require 1.0 credit of elective courses, while no-concentration students require 3.25 credits.
If you are in a concentration, your electives can be chosen from the courses within the other two concentrations, as long as you meet any pre-requisites. For example, if you are in the Financial Management concentration, you can choose your electives from any of the Management and Change or Business Analytics concentration courses.
If you do not have a concentration, your electives can be chosen from any concentration course, or any course that is not a core course, as long as you meet any pre-requisites.
The Course Offerings for each term will list any pre-requisites.
-
If you do not attend the graduation ceremony, the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs will mail out any remaining diplomas. For Winter graduates (February), all diplomas will be mailed out after degrees have been conferred. Please make sure your mailing address is up to date in Carleton Central.
