Seema Aurora
Seema Aurora was born in Budapest, Hungary to a Diplomatic family and went on to live in nine different countries growing up. Graduating from Seneca College specializing in International Business along with Ryerson University business program, Seema went on to a successful career in corporate management in Toronto and Ottawa.
In 1990, Seema established TAG HR headquartered in Ottawa with two employees to a current staff of 45 in-house employees and over 600 offsite consultants. Specializing in IT and professional staffing, TAG HR is the leading supplier to the Federal Government since the 1990s. TAG HR works nationally in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal creating many jobs in Canadian markets.
TAG HR has led the industry by adopting best practices in hiring, with over 20 varied ethnicities in their internal staff and more in the larger offsite consultant base. 85% of the TAG HR internal management and 55% of the offsite consultants are women.
Seema is also co-founder of Turtle Island Staffing, an Aboriginal Staffing firm specializing in placing qualified Aboriginal candidates.
Seema has been nominated for and won many business awards such as City of Ottawa Immigrant Businessperson of the Year, ICCC Businesswoman of the Year, ICOBC Businesswoman of the Year just to name a few.
Seema is currently serving on the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute Board and on the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation Board as well as the Ottawa Hospital Foundation as well as supporting charities such as CHEO Foundation, Bruyere Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation, United Way, Canadian Diabetes Foundation, and Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.
