Raili Pollanen
Raili Pollanen is an Adjunct Research Professor of accounting at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, where she has developed and taught accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as, supervised graduate students. Her research focuses on performance measurement and management systems in both private and public sectors, and more recently also on accounting regulation and governance.
Dr. Pollanen’s research has been published in refereed academic journals, such as Accounting, Organizations and Society; Public Management Review; Public Money and Management; Financial Accountability and Management; International Journal of Public Sector Management; International Journal of Business, Accounting and Finance; International Journal of Business and Public Administration; International Journal of Managerial and Financial Accounting; and Management Research News. In addition, her work has appeared in numerous refereed edited books and conference proceedings, as well as, in professional reports.
Moreover, Dr. Pollanen has served on several professional and academic accounting committees and taskforces, including as a member of the Public Performance Reporting Task Force of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants that developed the Statement of Recommended Practice: Public Performance Reporting published in the Public Sector Accounting Handbook. She has also completed several consulting projects for professional accounting bodies.
