Hanif Patni

Hanif Patni is Chair of the Sprott Advisory Board and co-owner of Coventry Connections Inc, a ground transportation company involved in operating taxis, black car services, limousines, chartered buses and towing services. Coventry controls twenty taxi fleets in various municipalities within Ontario. The company has close to 3,000 drivers who move over 13 million people annually. The business plan calls for a consolidation of the industry by building on the company portfolio of taxi licenses and by establishing efficient processes to be used across various urban centres in Canada.
Hanif has 21 years of experience in operating and re-engineering taxi and transport enterprises internationally, and has lived in Ottawa for the past 12 years. He is actively involved in the Ottawa community where he was appointed to the Mayor’s Taskforce on Transportation to consider all aspects of integrated transport including light rail. He was on the Board of Ottawa Tourism, having held positions of Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Chair of the Membership Committee. He was member of advisory boards for Carleton University’s Centre for the Study of Islam, and for the Ottawa Tulip Festival.
Hanif holds a double major in Commerce and Psychology from Simon Fraser University, an MBA from the University of British Columbia, and has an executive education designation in Finance from the London School of Business in the UK. He was recently selected as one of the forty Entrepreneur CEOs for Quantum Shift, a long-term executive development program annually coordinated by the Richard Ivy School at Western.
He is married to Jeni Aitken, a lawyer at Industry Canada. They have two children.
