Dunja Palic is a PhD in Management Candidate specializing in International Management. Her research focuses on international career transitions and immigrant workforce integration. Using qualitative methodologies and cognitive theories, Dunja’s work has explored the ways that qualified (or skilled) immigrants make sense of their career options in pursuit of employment commensurate with their skills.
Dunja is currently completing her dissertation, which explores how contextual factors and resourceful actions taken by qualified immigrants impact their career transitions. One paper from her dissertation, “Transnational sensemaking narratives of highly-skilled Canadian immigrants’ career change,” has been published in Career Development International. Alongside Dr. Amrita Hari and Dr. Luciara Nardon, she has also published a paper in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
In addition to her publications, Dunja has presented at conferences including the Academy of Management (AOM), the European Academy of Management (EURAM), the Academy of International Business (AIB), the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC), and the Centre for Research on Inclusion at Work (CRIW). She has also acted as a reviewer for Career Development International and the International Journal of Intercultural Relations. Throughout her academic career, Dunja has received the Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship (Master’s) issued by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), as well as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.
