Keynote Speaker Biography

Eugene Lundrigan is President, Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc., a Sun Life Financial business that offers investment solutions to defined benefit pension plan clients and other institutional investors. Eugene was instrumental in launching Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc. in 2014 and served as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the strategy development, product, marketing, client services and reporting functions. Eugene is also Head of Business Strategy for Sun Life Investment Management, Sun Life Financial’s third-party institutional investment management platform.

Eugene has over 20 years of experience in financial services and an extensive background in investments, investment governance, strategy and marketing. Following roles at the Bank of Canada, he joined Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (Sun Life) in 1997 and has held a range of senior level positions. Eugene has also served as the investments representative on the pension plan committees of several Sun Life businesses.

Raised in Baie Verte, Newfoundland, Eugene has a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and an M.B.A. (Finance) from McMaster University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and member of the Toronto CFA society
