Join us on Monday, February 27 for a Research Seminar featuring Dr. Stelios Zyglidopoulos, Professor of Strategic Management and a new Sprott faculty member as of January 1, 2023.

Description by Dr. Stelios Zyglidopoulos:

In this presentation, I would like to present an overview of my corruption-related research, past and present. Over a period of about fifteen years, I have done some theoretical and empirical research on the phenomenon of organizational corruption and in this presentation, I will take you through my conclusions and findings and present my current work. The main topics from my published work include, the normalization of corruption, the escalation of corruption, second-order corruption and corruption and profitability in MNCs. Furthermore, I will be discussing my current work on the digital transformation and corruption in the public sector, which is in its very early stages, and the link between meaningful work and corruption.  The main “glue” holding all these topics together has been and is my trying to understand how corruption functions and how it becomes part of the “way we do things around here.” I believe that if we are to reduce corruption in our organizations, we need to better understand the function(s) it really plays.
