Abstract
Complex AI systems are reshaping the world of business, including finance, healthcare, medicine, government, and law. This technological force has created profound, unparalleled, and unchartered governance and ethical challenges for organizations and governments. AI ethics provides guiding principles to ensure technology is developed, deployed, and governed responsibly by mitigating inherent risks. Canada leads the US and the world in the number of AI job postings that include keywords related to ethics, such as “Responsible AI” and “AI Ethicist”. This research identifies global challenges, with a focus on Canada, to meet the growing demand for AI ethics and compliance professionals.
