The Capstone Conference 2025 will showcase research conducted by the BEKH and its regional hubs and community partners. Much of the research represent a “first of its kind” in Canada and will substantially impact entrepreneurship policy and practice. The conference welcomes a broad range of attendees, including entrepreneurs, policymakers, academic scholars, and private sector partners to showcase key insights from research and to collaboratively shape the future of Black entrepreneurship in Canada.

The Honorable Rechie Valdez, Minister of Small Business, and Arielle Kayabaga, Member of Parliament (London West), visit the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub at Carleton University's Sprott School of Business.

During this two-day event, expert speakers will reflect on co-generated research, provide insight on the role of policy and share ideas and opportunities for local action to maximize the economic and social potential of Black businesses. By bringing together dynamic speakers and participants, the conference highlights innovative ways to build and grow participation of Black businesses in the larger Canadian and international economy through strong, sustainable, and profitable enterprises.

The BEKH Capstone Conference brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, and community partners, elected officials, financial experts, researchers, and policy makers from across Canada. The conference will draw an in-person audience of about 100 attendees and a virtual audience of a similar size.
