A Streamlined Pathway to the CPA Designation
Building upon a legacy of accounting excellence and as a leader in accounting education, the Sprott School of Business is excited to launch the Bachelor of Accounting* (BAcc). The BAcc exposes students to advanced accounting topics identified by industry and aligned to the recent changes in the CPA competency map.
Delivered by award-winning faculty, the BAcc provides students with advanced and in-depth knowledge of accounting theory and practices, preparing students to pursue the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation post graduation.
The Sprott School of Business is accredited by AACSB International and the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS).

Cutting-Edge Accounting Curriculum
In addition to advanced knowledge in accounting, courses also cover emerging topic areas, including data analytics, equity, diversity and inclusion, sustainability and new technologies. Core courses provide a foundation across key business functions. The fourth-year experiential capstone weaves together all accounting topics covered throughout the program.
CPA-Experienced Faculty
Sprott accounting faculty are leaders in their field. Many of our faculty are themselves CPAs and are involved in the CPA accreditation process – from advising on certification requirements to evaluating professional exams.
A Partnership to Launch Global Careers in Public Financial Management
Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business is excited to announce a new partnership with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) that will provide students with a launch pad to global careers in public sector finance and accounting. Learn more!

Sprott Tax Students’ Association
Each year, student volunteers in the Sprott Tax Students’ Association (STSA) run tax clinics on campus to assist members of the Carleton University in completing their tax returns. Last year, STSA expanded their impact with off-campus clinics and served more than 400 clients. Read more about the STSA Tax Clinics here.

Sprott Accounting Students’ Association
The Sprott Accounting Students’ Association provides many opportunities for professional development, career and social engagement. SASA’s annual Net Night links students with representatives from accounting firms, as well as public and private sector employers.
