Call for LLeaP Proposals

Faculty members, contract instructors, adjunct faculty, and PhD candidates:

Would you like to share your knowledge with engaged and enthusiastic learners from the Ottawa community? The Centre for Initiatives in Education at Carleton University is accepting proposals in any academic discipline for the 2024 sessions of the Lifelong Learning Program (LLeaP).

LLeaP offers non-credit lecture series and workshops to adults of all ages who are motivated by interests and their love of learning. Lecture series and workshops can be held virtually or in-person, and do not include required texts, homework, or grading.

In the Winter 2024 Session we are offering various 6-week long series, which will run between January 17th – March 14th.

LLeaP series classes:

LLeaP participants:

Participants are engaged and eager to learn. Most are older adults, have a postsecondary degree, and are retired professionals.

LLeaP lecturers:

The rate of pay for teaching in LLeaP is $100.00 per teaching hour, for a total of $1,200 for a 12-hour lecture series/workshop. No grading or office hours.

If you are applying to teach for LLeaP for the first time, please get in touch with the LLeaP team prior to the proposal deadline so that we can schedule an interview with you.

The link for submitting proposals is open all year. If you would like to lecture during a specific session, please note the proposal deadlines below:

Early Spring (March – April): February 12, 2024
Late Spring (April – May): April 1, 2024 
Early Fall (September – October): August 5, 2024
Late Fall (November – December): September 23, 2024 
Winter 2025 (February – March): December 2, 2024
