Sprott School of Business Welcomes New Faculty Members

The Sprott School of Business at Carleton University is pleased to announce the addition of several faculty members to its team. This expansion reflects Sprott’s dedication to delivering top-quality education, conducting groundbreaking research, and fostering strong community engagement.

Nusa Fain joins Sprott as an assistant professor in Entrepreneurship and the TIM (Technology, Innovation, and Management) group. Nusa previously served as the director of the Master of Management Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University.

Qi Deng joins Sprott as an assistant professor in Business Analytics. Qi comes from the Rowe School of Business at Dalhousie University where he was an assistant professor in Information Systems. Qi returns to Sprott, having graduated from Carleton with a PhD in Management in 2019.

Dora (Yun) Wang joins Sprott as an assistant professor in marketing for a two-year term. Dora was previously an assistant professor of Marketing in the Department of Business & Tourism at Mount Saint Vincent University. Dora graduated from Sprott completing her PhD in Management in 2021 specializing in Marketing and Information Systems.

Jasdeep Bajwa, with designations in CPA, CIA, and CFE, has joined Sprott as a full-time accounting instructor. Jasdeep served as a senior analyst in Risk and Governance at Wealthsimple Technologies Inc. Jasdeep graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2016 completing her Master of Accounting degree.

Naomi Fernando, with CPA designation, has joined Sprott as a three-year term accounting instructor. Naomi previously served as an audit manager at Welch LLP. Naomi is a Carleton and Sprott alumni, graduating from the Bachelor of Commerce program with a concentration in accounting.

Robert Helal joins Sprott full-time as Instructor and program lead for the Sprott Student Consulting Group. He holds a PhD in Management from Sprott and brings both industry and teaching experience in the areas of strategy, marketing and new product innovation. Robert has been most recently working at IBM as the Head of Collaborative Innovation and Ecosystem, Analytics for the EBU Data and AI Division.
