Sprott’s Centre for Research on Inclusion at Work appoints Angela Dionisi as director
The Centre for Research on Inclusion at Work (CRIW) at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business is pleased to announce Angela Dionisi as incoming director. Starting July 1, 2022, Angela will be sharing CRIW’s governance responsibilities along with directors Andrew Webb and Luciara Nardon.
“CRIW fulfills an important role in supporting and nurturing researchers that are working towards creating more inclusive workplaces,” said Angela, an associate professor of management at the Sprott School of Business. “I am honoured to be accepting this position, and wholeheartedly welcome the opportunity to contribute to CRIW’s valuable mission.”
A long-time research affiliate to CRIW, Angela’s research interests focus on both workplace mistreatment and leadership. Her body of work mainly explores the impact of workplace sexual harassment on targets, and those with close relationships to them. She is particularly concerned with how negative workplace dynamics may uniquely affect historically underserved groups. Most recently, she has been expanding her research area to examine workplace mistreatment encountered by individuals living with disabilities. Her ultimate goal is to help foster healthier, more inclusive workplace environments.
Angela seeks to continue CRIW’s efforts in fostering a sense of community among those studying issues pertinent to workplace inclusion. She looks forward to encouraging more students and emerging scholars to get involved in workplace inclusion research. Additionally, Angela is eager to engage with the community.
“I think there is an opportunity for academia to be an agent of change, both by influencing policies and practices affecting equity and inclusion at work, and by connecting with community members themselves.”
