The Sprott School of Business is hosting a two-day hybrid conference on Sustainable Accounting and Finance on April 27th and 28th, 2022 to focus on the critical role of sustainability in our financial world. Working to advance this fast-changing discipline and to facilitate cross-sector learning, the event will combine a peer-reviewed academic conference and a practitioner-focused conference with speakers, panelists, and respondents from industry. The event will feature leading-edge research and discussion of the practice and measurement of sustainable finance.
The theme of the conference is ‘Data-driven investments’ since this data affects both accounting and finance and creates the need for urgent collaboration between these two realms. How can accounting and finance work together to create a more sustainable world? How can we manage and measure the impact of our investments? What issues and challenges remain to be overcome? Where do investments of the future need to be directed in order to begin to reverse the effects of the climate crisis and transition the world to a low-carbon future? The conference will address these and other themes related to the intersection of sustainable accounting and finance.
