Sprott alumni give back through Sprott Serves

A group of Sprott alumni spent their weekend volunteering at an Ottawa-area shelter. The event is the first in a new alumni program, Sprott Serves.

“Sprott Serves provides alumni with a unique opportunity to network with fellow alumni while giving back to their local community, a true Sprott initiative,” says Stephaine Lawrence, Alumni Relations Officer at the Sprott School of Business. “We want to be in the community for the community.”

On Saturday, April 29, the group spent the day cleaning up the yard of Interval House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter and services for women and their children fleeing domestic abuse.

Alumni response to the inaugural Sprott Serves event has been positive. The School hopes to organize more opportunities for alumni to volunteer in the community, as well as expand the program to other regions such as the GTA.
