Sprott students start new chapter of Association for Information Systems

Students in Sprott Information Systems Students’ Association (SISSA) are starting a student chapter of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) – an international organization dedicated to leading the practice, research, teaching and study of information systems worldwide.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for SISSA and for the school,” says SISSA president Jeff Beith, who is in his final year of Sprott’s Bachelor of Commerce program, Information Systems concentration. “AIS is an internationally recognized organization and a student chapter will help enhance the reputation of the IS concentration at Sprott. Students will have the opportunity to access resources that AIS provides, as well as take advantage of networking and career opportunities.”

Students will also have access to the AIS web portal where they can find information on jobs and careers in IS and webinars that showcase best practices. Each year, AIS hosts a Student Chapter Leadership Conference, which features a case competition program.
