Sprott School welcomes students from Sprott MBA in Bogotá

Sprott MBA students from Bogota, Colombia, cohort in Ottawa

This week Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business welcomes 21 students who belong to Sprott’s first MBA cohort in Bogotá. The students are in Ottawa for a two-week study tour to learn about business in Canada.

“We’re very proud to welcome our Colombian MBA students to the Carleton campus here in the Canada’s capital,” says Jerry Tomberlin, dean of the Sprott School of Business. “This study visit offers MBA students studying in Bogota the opportunity to learn about business in Canada firsthand and connect with students in our domestic program for a truly international educational experience.”

The students arrived on campus on Monday. This week, they are spending their mornings attending classes for an MBA course on Doing Business in Canada and the US, which they are taking together with students in the domestic program. In the afternoons, the students are visiting organizations with a focus on international business.

In April 2014, Carleton’s Sprott School of Business launched its MBA in Bogotá, Colombia, in partnership with Colegio de Estudios Superirores de Administración (CESA). In addition to the Sprott MBA curriculum, the students also take courses developed by CESA, making them eligible for an additional CESA qualification. The program is delivered in an executive weekend format over 24 months. Content is delivered two-thirds in English, one-third in Spanish.
