SSHRC announces grants to Carleton students and faculty totalling more than $2.5 Million

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) has announced funding for more than 60 Carleton University researchers. The funding amounts to more than $2.5 million and is spread between research grants and graduate-level scholarships.

In all, 35 master’s students were granted awards totalling $630,000, while 28 PhD students were granted awards totalling $1,875,000.

SSHRC also announced a Partnership Development Grant has been awarded to a research team led by Prof. Linda Duxbury at the Sprott School of Business. The team will examine the sustainability of policing in Canada, including a look at the economics of policing, high retirement rates and the need for new skillsets. The team will receive nearly $200,000 over three years.
