Sprott research team evaluating mobile technology implementation at the Ottawa Hospital

Researchers in Sprott’s Centre for Information Technology, Organizations and People (CITOP) are working with the Ottawa Hospital to study the impacts of rolling out a new mobile technology ordering system among medical staff.  The system allows physicians to use iPads to order medication and tests, as well as access x-rays and test results, from anywhere.

Dr. Gerald Grant, CITOP director, is leading a multidisciplinary team that is evaluating the success of the system and its implementation,  including the impacts to staff and procedures as well as whether the technology is being used. The findings will help healthcare organizations manage the implementation of information technology systems.
