Sprott alumnus Greg Farrell named new president of Giant Tiger

Greg Farrell, BCom/88 (Accounting major), has been appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer of Giant Tiger Stores Limited, effective August 1, 2012. Farrell, a Chartered Accountant, joined the company in 2000 and advanced through the company, becoming Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2007.

Giant Tiger is a Canadian-owned family discount store chain that provides on trend family fashions, groceries and everyday needs at low prices. Established in 1961 in Ottawa’s Byward Market, the privately-held company has grown to over 200 locations across Canada, and employs over 7,000 team members.
