Irish Ambassador Ray Bassett and Minister Tony Clement visit the Sprott School

On Wednesday January 25, the Sprott School of Business received two special guests: his Excellency Ray Bassett, Irish ambassador to Canada and the Honorable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board of Canada.

Mr. Bassett was the second speaker in the Sprott School’s CXO lecture series for 2011-12, which welcomes leaders in industry and the community to share their expertise and experiences.  Addressing MBA students, faculty and staff, Mr. Bassett shared insights to the Northern Ireland peace process and enlightened the audience on Canada’s contributions to the process.

Switching to domestic affairs, the Hon. Tony Clement met with a group of faculty and students as part of the federal government pre-budget consultation. The group provided the Minister with recommendations on issues such as Canada’s Economic Action Plan, government spending, stimulating private sector growth and safeguarding our economy.
