Sprott MBA students take 3rd place in academics at the 2011 MBA Games
A team of 22 Sprott MBA students went head-to-head against teams from 20 universities from across the country in the 2011 MBA Games. The Sprott team had a strong showing at the games, topping teams from some of the highest-ranked programs in Canada and placing third in the academic competition, sixth overall.
“Since it was only our second year at the MBA Games, we were looking for a top 10 finish,” says Ogi Hrnjez, president of the Sprott MBA Society. “None of our academic teams had coaches so we are very proud of having placed third and beating much better prepared schools. This gives us confidence for next year; we’re aiming to finish in the top three overall. “
The MBA Games is the largest gathering of MBA students in Canada; over 600 participated in this year’s competition, which took place Jan. 7-9. Hosted by the Schulich School of Business at York University, the MBA Games challenged students in three areas of competition: academics, athletics and spirit.
