As part of the online application process, you will be asked to give the name and contact information of your two references. They will then be sent an automated email with a standard form to complete. Please advise your referees that they can expect this email. We are unable to assess your application until we have received both references.

If you completed all or a portion of the CPA prerequisite courses outside of Canada, you will be required to complete the following prerequisite courses at a Canadian post-secondary institution:
- Intermediate Financial Accounting I
- Intermediate Financial Accounting II
- Advanced Financial Accounting
- Audit/Assurance
- Taxation
- Business Law
- Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS)
Note that all of the above courses with the exception of Business Law can be completed by registering in the Sprott Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting.

The language of instruction at Carleton is English. For admission into Carleton’s graduate programs, you will need to demonstrate that your knowledge and use of English are strong enough for graduate studies at an English-language university. What is the format required for my letters of reference?
If you have not completed all of the prerequisite courses during your undergraduate degree, you have a few different options:
Carleton offers a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting which is a 2 year online program that covers the core prerequisite courses. If you have further questions on this program please contact
academicadvising@sprott.carleton.caAlternatively, you may wish to complete one or more of these courses at Carleton as a Special Student. Find more information about becoming a special student on the Carleton Registrar website.
You can also complete the outstanding prerequisites through the CPA Preparatory Courses, or through another Canadian Post-Secondary Institution. Please review our MAcc Prerequisite Forms which lists equivalent prerequisite courses from various Canadian Post-Secondary Institutions.

Full-time MAcc students must pay full-time fees over the course of every semester that they are registered in the program (Summer, Fall and Summer). Part-time students must pay part-time fees over the course of all six of the semesters that they are registered the program.

Undergraduate Studies completed outside of Canada
If you completed all or a portion of the CPA prerequisite courses outside of Canada, you will be required to complete the following prerequisite courses at a Canadian post secondary institution:

- Audit/Assurance
- Taxation
- Business Law
- Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS)

Undergraduate Studies completed at a Canadian Post-Secondary Institution
If you have completed the CPA prerequisite courses at a Canadian post-secondary institution, including the six courses listed above, then you are eligible to apply for the MAcc program.
Language Requirements
For admission into Carleton’s graduate programs, you will need to demonstrate that your knowledge and use of English are strong enough for graduate studies at an English-language university. Visit our International Graduate Students website for our English-language requirements.
International Students can also visit the International Students Services Office for more information.
Eligibility
International students can only be admitted to our full-time MAcc program. Due to work/visa requirements for the MAcc program, international students are not eligible for our part-time program.

What is the format required for my letters of reference?
Tuition and other fees are based on the number of terms of study and the residency status of the applicant—i.e., domestic (Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada) or international. To estimate the fees that will apply to you, please use Carleton’s Fee Estimator* and keep the following in mind:
- The PMBA is a full-time program, consisting of four terms of course-based study (Fall + Winter + Summer + Fall).
- The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is mandatory for international students, and covers the cost of physician/hospital medical services for students and their immediate families.
*All amounts are in Canadian dollars. Annual tuition and student fees are set by the University each year and are subject to change. Fees may also be affected by the speed at which you progress through the program.
