The PMBA Peer Mentorship initiative connects first-year PMBA students with senior students. Our mentors are motivated professionals, drawn from a wide range of industries and educational backgrounds. As such, they are well-equipped to share their knowledge, insights, and passion to help new students navigate the PMBA and the next steps in their career journey. The initiative also provides opportunities for participants—both mentors and mentees—to expand their professional networks.
Volunteering as a mentor is a great way to stay connected to the Sprott community. Mentors can expand their leadership skills, exercise emotional intelligence, deepen their understanding of various industries/professions, and gain new perspective and fresh ideas. Mentoring also provides opportunities to make a meaningful contribution by shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Participating students will be matched with a mentor who can provide support and guidance in navigating the PMBA program and their career journey. As a mentee, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills and build your professional network, giving you a competitive advantage in your career.
If you are a second-year PMBA student, and are interested in serving as a mentor, we kindly ask you to complete the mentor intake form. Your profile will reviewed by the PMBA Program Office. Once approved, it will be added to the directory of available PMBA Peer Mentors.
First-year PMBA students interested in being a mentee should complete the mentee intake form and then rank the available mentors in order of fit / preference. Mentors and mentees will be matched and connected with one another by the PMBA Program Office.
Following an initial meeting where goals and parameters of the relationship are defined, mentors and mentees will arrange monthly meetings for the duration of the mentee’s program.
Note: new mentors will be recruited each Summer, and matched with mentees in early September.
