Carleton’s Sprott School of Business celebrates the first graduates of its MSc in Management
Parth Shah and Sophia Krystek are the inaugural graduates to receive their MSc in Management from Carleton University and were recognized at the Sprott School of Business virtual graduation celebration on Nov. 13, 2021.
“We’re really proud of them,” said Leighann Neilson, academic director of the MSc program and associate professor of marketing. “They’re great representatives for Sprott. Their success is also an indication to us that we made the right decision to implement the program.”
Under the supervision of professors Vinod Kumar and Uma Kumar, Parth’s thesis explored the factors that can assist companies in making technological products more accessible to seniors, increasing their independence.
Meanwhile, Sophia, who was supervised by professor Neilson, studied how the experiences that Gen Z and Millennials share on social media affect their personal brands.
Launched two years ago, the MSc in Management program provides students with the research foundation to advance to doctoral studies or applied research careers in the public, private or not-for-profit sectors. It focuses on applied research about complex management problems in a rapidly changing and global environment.
