Professor Isaac Otchere awarded Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship

Isaac Otchere, Professor of Finance, was awarded a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship. Through this fellowship, Isaac will be working with the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) for research, capacity building, curriculum and program review.

This is one of 59 projects that pair African Diaspora scholars with higher education institutions in Africa to collaborate on curriculum co-development, research, graduate teaching, training and mentoring activities.

Isaac is one of 60 African Diaspora scholars who have been awarded fellowships to travel to Africa beginning in December 2014 to conduct the projects, which span a range of fields across the arts and humanities, social sciences, business, education, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

This innovative fellowship program facilitates engagement between scholars born in Africa who are now based in Canada or the United States with scholars in Africa on mutually beneficial academic activities. The program is managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE), in collaboration with Quinnipiac University. The program is funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

Isaac Otchere is Professor of Finance at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business. He has received many awards for research and teaching. Isaac is co-editor of the Journal of African Business
