Hi everyone!
My name is Bruce Smith and I'll be contributing to this blog for a little while! I'll be sharing my experiences about my life as I'm on exchange at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, South Australia.
I'll start by telling you a little bit about me, so that you have some background info about who this new blogger is!
As I said already, my name is Bruce, and I'm a currently wrapping up my 3rd year in Carleton's BCom program, with a major in International Business. My career goal is to work in International Marketing, and this exchange has definitely helped me move towards that goal. I was born and raised in small town called Navan, which is just outside of Ottawa (it's about a 25 minute drive to Carleton). My absolute favourite thing in the world is hockey and I'm a die hard fan of my home town, the Ottawa Senators.
I first arrived in Australia on December 30 2011, just in time to see New Year's Eve in Sydney! That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen, with a total of 1.5 million people around the harbour to welcome in the new year. I spent about 2 months in Australia before my semester at UniSA began, as I travelled and settled into life in Adelaide. This is a beautiful city, and I can't wait to tell you more about it in future posts!
So that's pretty much all you need to know about me. I'm always happy to answer any questions that you may have in the comment section below, whether they be about me or anything about Carleton, Sprott, Adelaide, or Australia in general.
Take care everyone, and I hope that you all enjoyed your long weekend :)
