A good proposal isn’t just about having all the sections, it is about creating astory that sells your research idea and convinces the reader that your research MUSTbe done! This session will help you think through how to craft a proposal that is easy toread, feasible and impactful.



ABOUT THE PRESENTERAmanda Bradford-Janke is a Manager Research Services and Initiatives, SprottSchool of Business, Carleton University. Amanda has over 20 years experience inresearch at academic institutions. With a BSc. Honours in Neuroscience and a MSc. inBiology (Biophysics) her career has spanned many different disciplines includingClinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Nursing, Critical Gerontology and most recentlyas Manager Research Services and Initiatives at Sprott School of Business. Sincejoining Sprott in 2018 she has assisted Sprott faculty with the submission of 200+ grantapplications and seen over $11.8M in funding awarded to researchers from a variety ofsources. This diverse experience has given her a broad understanding of research inseveral disciplines as well as a keen awareness of the funding landscape in Canada.
