Savannah Moody is a third-year Bachelor of International Business (BIB) student in the Spanish language stream. Savannah is studying at Univeridad Adolfo Ibañez in Vīna del Mar, Chile. (All students in the BIB program are required to study abroad for their third year at one of our partner institutions.)
Introduce yourself! Tell us a little bit about your goals and interests:
I am a third year International Business student concentrating in international marketing and trade. I grew up in Aurora, a town north of Toronto with my parents and 3 siblings. I work and spend most of my time at a golf course. I love various sports and activities such as hockey, soccer, football, snowboarding, running and golf. I enjoy listening to music and attending concerts and festivals.
Why did you choose your language?
I chose Spanish because it is one of the most commonly spoken languages. Learning this language will open a lot of opportunities for me in the business world. I am also very interested in Latin American culture and wanted the opportunity to do my exchange here.
Have you ever travelled overseas before? If so, where?
I have been to Iceland, multiple places in the United States, the Bahamas, Belize, Grand Cayman and Roatan. Hopefully after my year abroad I will be able to have a more impressive list!
What 3 things MUST you take with you while abroad?
- My headphones/Spotify playlist
- My camera
- A roll of toilet paper- always comes in handy when backpacking, trust me.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to putting my knowledge of the Spanish language to use and to learn more. I am very eager to meet new people from all over the world and learn from them. I am excited to make new memories while travelling around Chile and South America.
