At Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business, MBA internships are a mandatory requirement for students with less than two years of work experience. In Ontario, mandatory internships have flexibility with regards to compensation.

In summer 2014, 39 of our MBA students worked in private, public and non-profit sectors on projects ranging from performance improvement to market research and business development.

Volunteer (unpaid) internships are acceptable. While compensation is not the primary focus of the internship, it is an important component of an organization’s value proposition.
