I recently read this article: 101 Things About Mexico City and found it very entertaining. Here are the points that I like the most:
1. There are 31 speed bumps between my house and my work. It’s the same in Guadalajara- the land of speed bumps.
35. If you ask for directions, chances are the person doesn’t know. But most people are so kind and friendly that they will gladly make something up for you that sounds right.
48. The pedestrian does not have the right of way. I learned that one quick enough.
55. Ketchup goes on pizza. Why? I like ketchup, and I like pizza, just not together.
90. The trunks of trees should be painted white…I think it has something to do with bugs. They do this in Guadalajara as well and I have been wondering why all year.
There was only one that I totally disagree with:
41. Customer service…what customer service? I have had outstanding customer service almost everywhere, with an honorable mention to the 15 people always working at my taco place, Don Miguelón.
This article has inspired me to create a list of my own experiences from living in Guadalajara and traveling through Mexico. Enjoy!
