Hello everyone!
Second semester was super busy for me, given the fact that I had a lot more classes. I was taking six classes and they were not very hard, however they all required a lot of work in terms of assignments. This shortened my time to do a lot of travelling, but I was still able to manage to get some in on the weekends in between my studies!
I went to Barcelona and stayed at a guy's house through Couch Surfing. For those that do not know what Couch Surfing is, it is a website where people offer their couches for people who are travelling. It was quite interesting to use for the first time and we actually had a great time. A friend of mine joined me, so we stayed in Barcelona for about seven days on this guy's couch. It was a lot of fun. I got to see a lot of the city through the eyes of someone who lives in that city.
After Barcelona, I got back to Paris and had tons of working waiting for me! Many of my friends had left in January because they were only there for one semester, so it was a new start for me. I have to admit that it was not easy and a little frustrating, but this is what it's all about.
In February I went to Milan to visit two friends whom I had met at my host University, Paris Dauphine. I spent approximately five days in Milan and stayed at my friend's house. She lives with her parents so I had the chance to meet her parents and spend some time with them. My two Italian friends showed me everything in Milan. They also took me to the amazing islands close to Milan.
After Milan, my friend who lives in Barcelona and who I met through Couch Surfing, came to Paris and stayed with me for a couple of days. I also had my Canadian Parents visit me for about a month. They decided to rent out an apartment here in Paris and I had an incredible time with them! After their visit, I was very busy with all my school work and my finals. All my courses ended at the end of April, which means that I am DONE with school for the year! Some of my friends still have courses until the end of May.
On Friday, the last day of school for me, I went to Prague to visit a friend who I had not seen in about four years. We met in Canada when I first went on my high school exchange. Since then we have been keeping in touch and after four years, we had the chance to reunite. You have no idea how incredible it felt and how amazing it was!
In Prague I stayed at MOSAIC HOSTEL, a hostel under St-Christophers chain. It was simply the best time ever. I met people from all over the world. I went there alone because my friend who lives in Prague returned to Prague only three days after my arrival. I stayed in a room with eight other people. I had the incredible chance to meet two guys from India who were travelling around Europe and were doing their exchange in Berlin. I also met two guys from Amsterdam and on the last two days of my trip, I had the chance to meet two Canadians from OTTAWA who were put in my room too. We simply could not believe it! It was quite an experience!
After returning from Prague, I had some time to relax and guess what..... guess what.... guess what!?!?!?!
I started my internship here in Paris with a company named AINY. I am just starting but I have to admit that thanks to Sprott that I was able to have this opportunity! Soon I will tell you more about it, but for now I am helping them to set up business in Brazil and doing some translation for their websites!
Well, this is it for now! Next weekend I am off to Portugal, so that will be very exciting! I am also going to Lisbon (with my friend from Quebec) to visit a friend from Brazil and I will be staying with a Portuguese friend whom I met here last semester. We are both quite excited to go! She has never been in Portugal either!
Tons of hugs and bisous de Paris!
