The Sprott School of Business is committed to supporting your success as you earn a first rate business education while engaging in an unparalleled undergraduate experience! It is a priority to ensure that you make the connections you need to help you manage your commitments as a university student, both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Student Success Officer works 1-on-1 with Sprott students and is always ready to hear about your experiences (both successes and struggles). Then they work with you to identify programs, services and initiatives that will help ensure your success, in or out of the classroom, from your first year to your final year as a Sprott student. Whether you need to talk about your academic success; balancing academics, extra-curriculars and work; or need assistance in goal planning; support in challenges that may come up; or just want to find out about value-adding opportunities to enhance your BCom or BIB degree. They’re here to help coach you in the right direction!

The Student Success Officer works collaboratively with centralized student service offices on campus to advocate for Sprott student needs and ensure that you get connected with the excellent programs that they offer.

What can I help you with?

Meet with your Student Success Officer to:

  • discuss your academic, extra-curricular, career and/or life goals and how to create a plan to achieve them;
  • create a plan for success for each academic year in your degree program;
  • obtain referrals to faculty, Carleton or Ottawa-community resources or contacts that can help you achieve your goals or address your concerns;
  • identify leadership and service-learning opportunities that will help you bring what you learn in the classroom into the real world! (all while building your resume and adding activities to your Co-Curricular Record)
