As many of you know, the accounting industry is in transition with respect to its designation, the CPA. Students are often confused as to which courses they should be taking to ensure they are in a good position upon graduation to move forward. We are very fortunate at Sprott to have Professor Jacques Maurice with us to help navigate the changes. Professor Maurice is Chair of the CPA Canada Transition Oversight Committee thus is very knowledgeable on the changes and how they affect accounting students.
Professor Maurice gave a presentation on the changes and provided some guidance on course selection. Below are the materials from the presentation:
- Accounting presentation (June 2015)
- Path to Becoming a CPA
- CPA Ontario – Professional Education Program Study Guide
- CPA Path Decision Tree
Sprott also offers our Master of Accounting program! Students graduating from the MAcc will be exempt from the CPA Canada Professional Education Program (PEP) and will proceed directly to the CPA Canada Common Final Examination, which is one of the final steps in becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant.
