Biography


Hilary Becker is an Associate Professor of Accounting. He received his PhD from the University of Havana and also holds a B.Sc. (Biology), BCom and MBA degrees as well as the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) andCertified General Accountant (CGA) designation. Hilary previously taught at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

Hilary has worked as an analyst with DuPont Inc., and has consulted with the World Wildlife Fund, the MacArthur Foundation, AFNI, Mosaid, Merck-Schering Plough, DFAIT, CGA and the Government of Cuba. He is a recognized expert in Cuban affairs, tourism and business. He has taught in Executive MBA programs in Hong Kong, as well Sprott’s MBA programs in Iran, Bogota and Shanghai. Research interests include Cuban Economic Development and Tourism, Performance Measurement Systems and its relation to Corporate Strategy and Blue Ocean Strategy.

Hilary is certified in Blue Ocean Strategy by the Blue Ocean Strategy Network (INSEAD University, France). Hilary serves on the Board of Directors of CGA Canada.
