MA1 Technical Competencies

Graduates will possess the technical abilities expected of professional accountants in all functional areas.

Learning Objectives

1.1 Appropriately analyze the role of financial reporting, apply reporting frameworks, and/or report transactions [Financial Reporting].
1.2 Analyze the role of corporate governance within an organization [Strategy and Governance].
1.3 Appropriately analyze management accounting information [Management Accounting].
1.4 Respond appropriately to assurance issues [Audit and Assurance].
1.5 Implement appropriate tax compliance and reporting, and tax-planning strategies [Taxation].
1.6 Use appropriate financial tools to address organizational needs [Finance].

MA2 Problem-Solving and Decision-Making

Graduates will be skilled in problem-solving and decision-making.

2.1 Identify and analyze complex business problems [Problem-Solving].
2.2 Formulate and support a recommendation amongst a set of alternatives [Decision-Making].

MA3 Enabling Competencies

Graduates will possess the essential skills of a professional accountant including professional and ethical behaviour, communication, self-management, and teamwork and leadership.

Learning Objectives

3.1 Act with honesty, integrity, credibility, self-confidence and independence, in adherence with the profession’s Code of Professional Conduct [Ethical Behaviour].
3.2 Communicate effectively (both written and oral) through listening, understanding, speaking, and writing with clarity and persuasion [Communication].
